Sporting - Burnham Association of Sports Clubs

In 1975 a sports association was formed to purchase 21 acres of fields; this was funded by local authorities and businesses and the various sports bodies. This gave the clubs a permanent home for the first time, later an extra 9 acres was purchased to secure access, thus we have 30 acres of prime sports fields. The sports involved are rugby, cricket and archery.

Burnham Rugby

Situated on the coast of the Bristol Channel just 2 miles from junction 22 of the M5, Burnham On Sea Rugby Club host all there visitors at the Burnham Association of Sports Club ground on Stoddens Road. The rugby club guarantees that whether you are playing or visiting, you will get a warm, friendly welcome.

Archery

The Burnham company of archers is also present at BASC, formed in the early 1970’s we now occupy a 6 acre open shoot, with most of our archery being of the target type i.e., aiming an arrow at a target set at various distances.

Cricket

The club currently plays in the Somerset League Division 1 and Division 7 on Saturdays and the WSM mid week league. Junior training is undertaken and all juniors new and more experienced are welcome to attend. The club also very much welcomes new experienced players to join our senior teams.

Host your team at BASC

We have a full – sized pitch with a stand, two other floodlit pitches a further pitch and various spaces for our extensive junior section. We feel that this has the makings of the finest sports facilities in the South West.
With a junior section numbering over 200, we provide a fully supervised and insured training facility for the young with DAB coverage and accredited coaching from the RFU, alongside the newly adopted STAR system (a scheme to help the under-priveleged)

The clubroom, a large open facility with a fully- stocked bar and kitchen behind, provides an ideal facility. We are looking toward the use of the clubroom as a wedding venue, a place for christenings, coming of age parties, parties in general and corporate event hire. We also feel that this will enhance the experience of visiting teams and create the desire for them to re-visit. The quality of the food and surroundings linger long in the memory, well beyond the final whistle.
